In The Game Plymouth: Funded by The National Lottery Community Fund
Plymouth Sports Charity is proud to launch In The Game Plymouth, a new Reaching Communities project funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, supporting young people across Plymouth, Devon through sport, wellbeing and community connection.
In The Game is part of our ongoing mission as a local Plymouth charity to improve health, confidence and life opportunities for young people, particularly those facing barriers to participation.
What is In The Game?
In The Game Plymouth is a free, community-based sports programme for young people in Plymouth. The project uses sport and physical activity as a powerful tool to build confidence, develop life skills and create real pathways into education, training and employment.
We deliver weekly sports sessions in neighbourhoods across Plymouth, bringing activities directly into local communities so young people can take part close to home.
Our sessions include:
⚽ Football
🏀 Basketball
🥊 Boxing
💪 Fitness training
🧘 Yoga
💃 Dance
All activities take place in a safe, relaxed and inclusive environment, designed with young people, not for them. No matter your background or ability, Street Sports Plymouth is open, welcoming and free to access.
A Community Sports Project That Goes Beyond Physical Activity
In The Game is more than a sports programme. As a National Lottery Community Fund project, it focuses on long-term wellbeing, personal development and positive futures for young people in Plymouth.
Alongside sport, participants can access:
🤝 One-to-one mentoring with experienced youth and sports workers
📝 Life skills workshops, including CV writing, budgeting, confidence building and mental health support
🌟 Leadership and volunteering opportunities, helping young people develop skills for the future
For young people who need additional support, our team provides guidance and signposting into education, training, volunteering and employment opportunities across Plymouth.
Funded by The National Lottery Community Fund
In The Game Plymouth is fully funded by The National Lottery Community Fund through the Reaching Communities programme. Thanks to National Lottery players, we are able to offer this free sports and wellbeing project to young people in Plymouth, helping to strengthen communities and improve long-term outcomes.
This funding allows Plymouth Sports Charity to remove financial barriers, reach underserved areas and provide consistent, high-quality support where it is needed most.
