Golden Moves: Moving More, Living Better in Plymouth - Funded by Sport England
At Plymouth Sports Charity, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to stay active, regardless of age or health condition. Thanks to funding from Sport England’s Movement Fund, we launched Golden Moves—a community wellbeing project designed to support older adults and those living with long-term health conditions in the Cattedown area of Plymouth.
What We Delivered
Since launching in Summer 2024, Golden Moves has delivered:
Bi-weekly adaptive fitness classes in Cattedown
Activities including chair-based exercises and gentle yoga, tailored for varying mobility levels

Ace Connections: Supporting Veterans Through Tennis in Plymouth Thanks to the Veterans Foundation
At Plymouth Sports Charity, we’ve spent the last year delivering Ace Connections—a powerful project that supported over 150 members of the Armed Forces community across the city through tennis and social connection.
Funded by the Veterans’ Foundation, Ace Connections ran for 44 weeks across Plymouth offering weekly sessions designed to improve physical health, reduce isolation, and build community among veterans in Plymouth.

Grant Secured: Operation Strong Receives Support from the Veterans' Foundation
We’re proud to announce that Operation Strong – our free fitness program for veterans in Plymouth – has received funding from the Veterans' Foundation. 🇬🇧💪
This vital support will allow us to provide tailored physical training sessions focused on improving both physical health and mental well-being for those who have served.

Heart Research UK: Improving Heart Health in Cattedown
Thanks to the support of Heart Research UK, Plymouth Sports Charity has been able to run targeted programs aimed at improving the heart health of individuals in Cattedown. Through tailored fitness sessions, we focus on activities that promote cardiovascular health, including walking and light aerobic exercises. -
Sport England Grant: Encouraging Movement Through Free Yoga and Walking Sessions
With the support of Sport England, Plymouth Sports Charity has been able to offer free yoga and walking sessions to help individuals become more active and improve their health. These programs are designed to be accessible to all, regardless of age or ability. -

200+ Directly supported through free fitness sessions and mental health programs.
