At Plymouth Sports Charity, we’re thrilled to support community events across the city that bring together sport, fun, and fundraising—all in the service of our beneficiaries. Here’s what’s coming up this summer that aligns with our mission:
⚽ Charity 5‑a‑Side Football Tournament – Sherford Sports Hub
Date: Saturday, 2 August 2025
Organised by Vistry Cornwall South West in aid of Cancer Research UK, this tournament welcomes up to 20 teams, with community clubs, families and local groups pitching in. Entry and sponsorship opportunities available.
🌞 Tugboats & Dolphins Summer Sports Fest
Date: Saturday, 2 August 2025, 10:00 – 22:30
Location: Cattewater, Plymouth PL9
Plymouth’s first Summer Sports Fest features swimming races, abseiling, golf driving range, stalls, food, and live community atmosphere. Profits support local charities and social causes. This event offers direct access to sporting experiences for underserved youth and beneficiaries, and ways we can help deliver sport‑based activities for inclusion and confidence building.
🔄 Other Community Events—Citywide Festivals & Active Sessions
The 2025 Plymouth Community Pride Guide lists multiple local events: informal park fitness meetups, community fêtes, outdoor art, pop‑up sports days and accessible workshops—all ideal for connecting our beneficiaries to wider participation.
✅ How These Events Benefit Our Beneficiaries
Inclusive Access: Many events waive entry or offer subsidised places for young people and adults with additional needs.
Health & Confidence: Running, football, swimming and active challenges boost physical health, mental wellbeing, and social bonds.
Fundraising Opportunities: We can help coordinate participant sponsorships, have awareness/information stands, or volunteer at events—raising funds and promoting our work.
Strategic Partnerships: Collaboration with organisations like Plymouth Hope and Argyle Community Trust strengthens long‑term reach and impact.
By tapping into these vibrant sporting and charity events across Plymouth, we can greatly increase opportunities for physical activity, social inclusion, and fundraising—supporting the health, confidence, and wellbeing of our beneficiaries. Together, we make sport a force for positive change.
